    Grievance Redressal
    • We will acknowledge grievances within 48 hours of receipt and attempt to provide final reply within 30 days of their receipt.
    • In case the grievance is not responded to within the prescribed time norms or the remedy offered is not satisfactory, an appeal can be filed with the next higher authority. The appeal will be decided within 15 days of the receipt.
    • Common grievances can be taken up in Open House meetings of Public Grievance Committee, Customs Clearance Facilitation Committee, Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee, Regional Advisory Committee.

    As the performance evaluation wing of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs [CBIC], it has been the endeavour of the Directorate General of Performance Management [DGPM] to evaluate the processes, been followed by the field formations, for ensuring optimum delivery of assured services to the stakeholders. Setting up of goals, making Strategy and Annual Action Plan with laid parameters ensures scalability of the efficiency of the field formations to make the tax administration more effective.
    The DGPM primarily undertakes the inspections of Customs and CGST Commissionerates besides being cadre control authority for 18 directorates under CBIC. It is also the nodal agency for recovery of arrears (TAR) and also for implementation of Raj Bhasha [Official Language]. During the Covid pandemic, with a view to move towards paper-less office with accountability and transparency, DGPM introduced the e-Office application in all the offices of CBIC.
